Terms and conditions
Version 1.0 — Effective 21 July 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Dr Moot website, applications, and services (together, the "Service") provided by Dr Moot ("Dr Moot", "we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Dr Moot is an AI deliberation product that runs multiple AI models across different modes (including Relay, Debate, Moot, and Studio) to produce responses, images, and video. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis and may change over time.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Accounts
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and authentication credentials (passkeys, magic links, or connected accounts such as Google).
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Notify us promptly at legal@drmoot.com of any unauthorised use of your account.
4. Subscriptions, billing, and entitlements
- Access to certain features depends on your subscription tier and associated token, media, and mode limits ("entitlements").
- Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe or, for purchases made in our iOS app, through Apple's App Store. The applicable payment provider's terms also apply.
- Fees are charged in advance and, except where required by law, are non-refundable.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription through the method used to purchase it.
- We may change pricing or entitlements on reasonable notice.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
- submit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or harmful;
- attempt to generate content that exploits or harms minors, promotes violence, or facilitates illegal activity;
- infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Service;
- use the Service to build a competing product by extracting model outputs at scale; or
- circumvent entitlement limits, security controls, or usage restrictions.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.
6. Your content
- You retain ownership of the content you submit to the Service ("Your Content").
- You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, and transmit Your Content solely to operate and provide the Service, including sending it to third-party AI model providers to generate results.
- You are responsible for Your Content and confirm you have the necessary rights to submit it.
7. AI-generated output
- Output generated by the Service ("Output") is produced by AI models and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or offensive. You are responsible for reviewing Output before relying on it.
- Output is not professional advice (legal, medical, financial, or otherwise).
- Subject to your compliance with these Terms and the terms of the underlying model providers, we do not claim ownership of Output generated for you. Similar or identical Output may be generated for other users.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and branding, is owned by Dr Moot and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted to you, no rights are transferred. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our permission.
9. Third-party services
The Service integrates third-party services (including AI model providers, cloud hosting and storage, and payment processors). We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, or terms of those third parties.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that Output will be accurate or reliable.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business; and
- our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or GBP 100.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold Dr Moot harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, or your breach of these Terms.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access at any time if you breach these Terms or where necessary to protect the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service and close your account at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including sections 6–12 and 15) will survive.
14. Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify the Service or these Terms from time to time. Where changes are material, we will provide reasonable notice through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. You and Dr Moot agree that the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except that we may seek injunctive relief in any competent court.
